2026 IBSF World Snooker Championships

The International Billiards and Snooker Federation is pleased to announce that the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India is hosting the 2026 IBSF World Snooker Championships for Men and Women at Indore in Madhya Pradesh from 12th to 21st November 2026.

The prestigious championship will bring together the world’s leading cueists to compete for the coveted world titles, with the Men’s Championship being conducted in a two-stage format comprising qualifying rounds and the main event.

The Men championship will be played in two stages i.e. Stage-1 and Stage-2.

1. Stage – 1 – Qualifying Round (64 Players)
All the players except for those who fall within the criterion set for the main event, by the IBSF Technical Committee, are required to qualify for the main event, through the qualifying events. The two qualifying events shall be played under the following rules and regulations.

• A maximum of 64 players can participate in each event.
• Each country is allowed to enter two players on the IBSF entry system. Besides those two players each country can also send the names of 2 reserve players via email to the organizers and cc to IBSF.
• The qualifying events will be played on knock out basis.
• Each event will be completed in two days.
• Each qualifying event will conclude on Last-8 stage.
• All the matches will be played on Best of 7 frames.
• A total of 16 players (8 players from each event) will qualify for the Stage-2, i.e. main event.
• Players who failed to qualify from the 1st event shall be eligible to participate in the 2nd event.

The entry fees for the qualifying events is US$ 150. Those players who qualify for the main event, don’t need to pay the entry fees for Stage-2

2. Stage – 2 – Main Event (48 Players)

• 48 Players will participate, according to the following criteria:
• 32 Players pre-qualified as per the attached list.
• 16 players from qualifying tournaments

Calendar of Events:

• Referees and players’ meetings for the qualifying events will take place at the Venue on Thursday 12th November at 19:00.
• Qualifying events will start on Friday 13th November 2026.
• Referees and players’ meetings for the main event of Men stage 2 and Women will take place at the venue on Monday 16th of November at 19:00.
• Matches of Men (Main Event) will start at 10:00 am on Tuesday the 17th of November 2026 and the final will be played on Saturday 21st November 2026.
• Matches of Women will start at 10:00 am on Tuesday the 17th of November 2026 and the final will be played on Saturday 21st November 2026.

The closing date for entries is 25th of September 2026.
