Wendy Wins Her 9th World Women Snooker Title

Wendy Jans once again claimed the World Women Snooker title that she lost in 2019. This is the 9th World title of her career.

Today in the final she played against Vidya Pillai of India who reached the first time in the final of the World Snooker (Individual) Championship.

Despite having vast experience in winning titles and playing against first-time final entrants, the path for Wendy was not that easy.

She won the first frame but Vidya outclassed her in the next two frames, having a break of 30 points in the third frame.

After that, Wendy showed her skills and won the fourth frame to level the match. By seeing the stiff competition, she must have decided not to give any loose string to Vidya and closed all paths with tight safety in the fifth frame. The frame was one of the lengthiest ones that reached the black ball. Finally, Vidya potted the difficult black to lead 3-2.

That was surely a pressure time for Wendy and she put in all her experience to counter Vidya in the sixth frame to win by 66-34 and strategized well in the deciding frame too where Vidya couldn’t score more than 2 points and Wendy won 62-2 to claim her 9th title.

Both the girls from Thailand Waratthanun Sukritthanes and Panchaya Channoi shared the joint bronze being semi-finalists.
