WCBS Joins the International Sport for All Federation as a Committee Member

The World Confederation of Billiards Sports (WCBS) is pleased to announce that it has been accepted as a Committee Member (Sport) of the International Sport for All Federation (FISpT).

As part of this membership, Grieta Steenkamp will serve as the WCBS representative to FISpT, supporting the development of cooperation and initiatives between the two organisations.

Founded in 1992 and recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since 1998, WCBS is the international governing body for Billiards Sports, bringing together the disciplines of Carom, Pool and Snooker through its three member federations: the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB), the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF), which also governs English Billiards.

Through its international network, WCBS works to develop and promote Billiards Sports worldwide, strengthen the sport’s global representation and create further opportunities for athletes to compete at major international multi-sport events, including The World Games.

Joining FISpT represents a valuable opportunity to extend this work beyond the competitive arena and further promote the recreational and social benefits of Billiards Sports.

Combining precision, concentration, strategic thinking and social interaction, Billiards Sports offer opportunities for participation across different age groups and backgrounds. Whether played recreationally at local clubs or at the highest international level, the sport has the potential to bring communities together and encourage lifelong participation.

Through this membership, WCBS looks forward to working closely with FISpT and its wider international network to explore opportunities to increase participation, exchange knowledge and experience, and support initiatives that make sport more accessible and inclusive.

This development further reinforces WCBS’s commitment to the global growth of Billiards Sports, with particular emphasis on youth development, equality, fair play, athlete welfare and creating opportunities for more people to experience the sport.
