Ali Wins the Mongolia World Cup of Men Snooker 2024
Ali Gharaghouzlo has emerged victorious in the inaugural Mongolia World Cup of Men Snooker 2024. The current Asian Snooker Champion from Iran defeated reigning World 6Red Champion Michael Georgiou of Cyprus with a score of 5-2, securing a prize of $8,000.
Throughout the match, Ali showcased impressive breaks, starting with a solid 63. Despite this, Michael managed to take the first frame by 7 points, leading 1-0.
In the second frame, Ali responded with two impressive breaks of 54 and 67, winning the frame 121-01 and leveling the match at 1-1. The players exchanged wins, reaching a 2-2 tie. However, Ali then pulled ahead with breaks of 87 and 53, taking a 4-2 lead.
In the seventh frame, Ali maintained control, sealing the victory with a score of 80-05 to claim the title.
Joint bronze medals were awarded to Fung Kwok Wai from Hong Kong and Asjad Iqbal from Pakistan.
