Asian 9-Ball Pool (Ladies & Girls-U17) Championships 2024

The Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports organized the Asian 9Ball Pool Championships 2024 for Ladies and Girls (U17), which was hosted by the Saudi Arabia Billiards and Snooker Federation (SABSF) at their Academy in Riyadh.

This remained a big success for the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports in its second year of being the official regional body for Pool games.

ACBS President Mr. Mohamed Salem Al-Nuaimi was the chief guest for the opening ceremony. He was joined by SABSF President Mr. Nasser Alshammari and ACBS Treasurer Mr. Joseph Lo.

The tournament attracted a total prize money of USD 20000 and the ACBS and SABSF offered free full board accommodation to participants.

The tournament started on the 21st of April with a technical committee meeting and the final for both disciplines was played today.

Out of total participation of 40 players in Ladies and 12 players in Girls (U17) category.

The players from Chinese Taipei dominated both the tournaments by reaching the finals of these two championships.

In the Ladies category, Chou Chien Yu (Chinese Taipei) won the title defeating her compatriot Wei Tzu Chien 7-3. Kawahara Chihiro from Japan and Seo Seoa from Korea stayed semi-finalists

For the Girls (U17) category, Wang Ming Ling (Chinese Taipei) defeated her compatriot Chang Jia Jia 5-2 in the final.

From host nation Saudi Arabia, Joud Bukhari reached the semi-finals round and shared joint bronze with Heo Yeolim of Korea.

ACBS also took this opportunity and organised a seminar for Pool Referees where  7 referees from Saudi Arabia and one from Syria qualified for the Silver badge of the ACBS Referees Program
