Countdown to the 25th World Championship 5-pins Individual Open

The 25th World Championship 5-pins Individual Open is finally back after a long stop. Six months after the second postponement due to the evolution of the global health emergency, the most important 5-Pins event is getting ready to start again in Calangianus. The countdown that will bring international billiards to Sardinia, in the city of Gallura from September 20th to 25th, 2022, begins.

Last edition was played in October 2019 in Pistoia (IT) when Ciro Davide Rizzo placed first ahead Santi Caratozzolo, Paolo Marcolin and Paolo Spadaro.

This time the setting is the Padiglione Fieristico EXPO in Calangianus, Italy. Italian Billiard Federation oversees the organization of the competition starting on Thursday, September 20th, 2022.

The batch of participants shows the best world talents and promises an exciting tournament.

64 athletes from Europe and South America (16 athletes from qualifications and 48 summoned by the various participating Federations according to internal criteria established), 20 nations, and about 30 referees.

The 64 athletes will be divided into 8 rounds, and the best four from each round will go on to make up the 32nd draw.

Rai Sport, the public FTA Italian sports TV channel (broadcasting Italian and international sports events in Italy on DTT channel 57 will guarantee TV coverage. The Italian Federation YouTube Billiard Channel will also broadcast live and catch up on some of the matches.
