Dick Jaspers is the World Cup Winner in Ankara
The Dutch player in his third consecutive final showed his strength by overcoming difficult moments during the tournament. The final match started with an equal score. In the tenth inning Jaspers took the lead with a run of 8 points, marking 17-10. After the break, Jaspers gained an important advantage at 38 – 14 in 12 innings with a run of 10.
Jaspers dominated the match until the end, winning by 50-23 in 20 innings.
In the first semi-final, Dick JASPERS and Marco ZANETTI started very close with a balanced first half, tied at 29 – 24 in 23 innings. In the second half, the game became more dynamic. The Italian player gained a slight advantage, although not decisive, 42-39 in 33 innings with a high run of 6 giving an idea of the tough fight that took place on the table, finally and already in the last stretch of the match, emotions made their way, after three match points for Marco Zanetti, Dick Jaspers prevailed 50-49 in 37 innings.
The second semi-final showed a match between Tayfun TASDEMIR and the Vietnamese player Quyet Chien TRAN, also an even match according to forecasts.
TASDEMIR started the match with a run of 10 points, soon taking a significant 14-2 lead in 3 innings, which was neutralized by TRAN, leading 28-20 in 11 innings before the break.
The match advanced with an even score but Tran managed to finalize to his advantage, winning by 50-42 in 26 innings.
