IBSF President Discussed the Return of the World Cup of Snooker to the Country of Lions of Mesopotamia

The President of International Billiards and Snooker Federation, Mr. Mubarak Al-Khayarin, holds talks with the Minister of Sports & Youth, Iraq, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, and the President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Mr. Aqeel Muftin.

The discussion had a broad focus on the topics of billiard sports in Iraq and the return of tournaments to Mesopotamia that would develop and expand the sport in the Arab region, and to support world and Asian championships with more world class players and technical officials.

IBSF has already extended the preliminary approval to Iraq for hosting the World Cup of Snooker in late 2024. The IBSF President, Mr. Mubarak Al-Khayarin also thanked the officials in Iraq for the warm reception and welcome on the soil of Iraq. He wished them success in the upcoming international and regional championships.
