Ng On Yee Lifts Her 8th World Title, won IBSF Women 6Red 2024

Ng On Yee has clinched her 8th world title by winning the 2024 IBSF Women’s 6Red Snooker Championship. This victory marks her eighth championship overall, combining both individual and team events.

In a thrilling final, On Yee faced off against her fellow compatriot, Mie Mie Fong. The match was fiercely competitive, with On Yee on the brink of defeat multiple times. Fong showcased her skills with impressive potting and maintained a lead in several frames.

After winning the opening frame, On Yee struggled as Fong surged ahead, taking three consecutive frames. However, On Yee rebounded in the fifth frame, delivering a crucial break of 71 points to stay in contention. Fong responded by regaining the lead in the next frame, putting her in a strong position to claim the title. The sixth frame proved pivotal, with On Yee edging out Fong by just three points to force a decider.

In the final showdown, Fong initially took a 25-point lead, but a critical miss opened the door for On Yee. Drawing on her vast experience, she ultimately triumphed with a score of 4-3, securing her championship.

Being Semi-Finalists, Indian women players Vidya Pillai and Keerthana Pandian shared the joint bronze.
