Shrikrishna Wins the World Men 6Red Snooker Title for 2022
S. Shrikrishna from India has become the World Men 6Red Snooker Champion for the year 2022. He defeated Habib Sabah of Bahrain 5-1 in the final played here at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The hunger to win the title was clearly evident on Shrikrishna’s face and in his body language. The first frame he captured scoring 51 against 4 when Habib levelled the match by winning the next frame 39-00.
In the third frame, Shrikrishna went all around the table to score a magnificent break of 63 points and then in the next 39 points to keep Habib on zero scoring.
In the 5th frame, Habib missed after making 7 points. Instantly Shrikrishna captured the frame with another break of 45 points and next again after getting a chance on 2 points of Habib, Shrikrishna went ahead to accumulate a total 43 points to close the proceedings 5-1 and to become World Champion.
Thor Chuan Leong from the host nation Malaysia and Issara Kachaiwong from Thailand stayed semi-finalists and received bronze medals.
The medals ceremony was graced by Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Ahmad Faizal Azumu alongwith President IBSF Mr. Mubarak Al-Khayarin, Vice President IBSF Mr. Jim Leacy, President Malaysian Snooker and Billiards Federation Mr. Melvin Chia.
