Thailand Wins the World Masters Team Snooker 2022
The Thailand Masters’ team comprises of James Wattana and Noppadon Noppachorn won the World Masters Team Snooker Championship 2022 here at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after defeating Team Iraq of Ihab Al-Salih and Firas Kamil Shaba 4-0 in the final.
Team Thailand dominated the entire match from the first frame itself where in singles, James Wattana crafted a break of 68 points to get frame score 103-00 against Firas Kamil Shaba.
In the next frame, Noppadon continued with the same momentum and won the frame scoring 77-16. The doubles frame they won by scoring 63-15 and at last, James Wattana scored a match winning break of 103 points against Ihab Al-Salih to claim the title for Thailand.
Earlier in the morning, Team Thailand had another though match which was against Team Wales comprises of Darren Morgan and Philip Williams. They defeated Wales in that match 4-2.
Although team Wales made breaks of 52, 58, 49 and 50 in three frames but Thailand defeated them with steady and tactical play.
Thailand was leading 3-0 when Wales made a recovery to took two frames in attempt to comeback in the game. Wales, however, made break of 50 in the 6th frame but Thailand countered them brilliantly to secure the frame and the match 4-2.
The Vice President of IBSF Mr. Jim Leacy gave away the trophies to the medal winners.
