Anti-Doping Education in Riyadh

Jim Leacy, a member of the WCBS Anti-Doping Committee, conducted two anti-doping education sessions during the recent IBSF Junior World Snooker Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The first seminar was attended by 32 players under the age of 17, along with 18 coaches and parents. In the second seminar, 70 players under the age of 21 participated, including both male and female players. Additionally, 22 coaches, referees, and parents attended. In total, representatives from 18 countries participated in the seminars.

The Fund transferred 2,000 euros to support the educational activities of the IBSF. Jim would also like to report on some interesting initiatives from various IBSF member countries. In Ireland, it has been decided that any player attending an international competition must complete an online anti-doping education course, which is organized by the Sport Ireland Anti-Doping unit.
