Anti-Doping Presentation in Batumi
For the first time, billiard players from Georgia and Azerbaijan took part in anti-doping training before the international Ajara Cup tournament in Batumi, Georgia. The information session, led by WCBS Anti-Doping Director Marcin Krzemiński, was attended by 40 participants, including athletes, coaches, and officials.
The training covered crucial topics such as prohibited substances and methods, the process of obtaining a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE), and the athlete’s responsibility regarding doping regulations. Krzemiński also shared the contact information of national anti-doping organizations (NADOs) and encouraged participants to cooperate with them. Additionally, he held a separate meeting with the management of the Georgian Billiards Federation to discuss further collaboration on anti-doping efforts.
Director Krzemiński also spoke about the anti-doping activities of WCBS, including the WCBS Solidarity Anti-Doping Fund, in television interviews recorded for broadcast in Tbilisi and Batumi. These endeavors were a major step in ensuring that players in Georgia and Azerbaijan are well-informed and prepared to compete in line with anti-doping standards, helping to promote clean and fair sport in the region.
