The billiard world already knew he was a great talent. Now it is evident that he is a champion as well: 16-year-old Burak Hashas from Turkey is the new UMB 3-cushion Junior World Champion. In a spectacular but one-sided final, he beat Greece’s Dimitrios Seleventas to win the 2022 title: 35-10 in 19/18 innings.
5-Pins World Championships in Calangianus, Italy – Andrea Quarta is the New World Champion
What a triumph for Andrea Quarta! At the just-finished World Championships in 5-Pins- Billiards, the 40-year-old Italian won the title and thus secured his second World Championship after 2008.
In front of his home crowd in Calangianus/Sardinia, Quarta played a great final against the Argentinean Ricardo Dieguez, which he won in the end with 4:0 sets.
Klompenhouwer Wins a Record Fifth World Championship
The UMB Ladies 3-cushion World Championship had a towering favorite: Therese Klompenhouwer. And the Dutch lady from Nijkerk delivered: undefeated in the tournament, never really in danger. She dominated the final against Korean talent Ji Eun Han from the start with an early run of eight and finished it 30-16 in 22 innings.
Dani Sánchez wins his 15th World Cup
The 2022 UMB Seoul World Cup will mostly be remembered for the two majestic semifinals on Sunday. The final was, unfortunately for the talented Korean Myeong Jong Cha, a one-sided affair with Sánchez in control from start to finish: 50-19 in 16 innings. The Spaniard is turning into the main “angstgegner” for world champion Dick Jaspers, who has now lost five in a row to Sánchez. The Dutchman, however, remains solidly in first place on the world ranking.

Considering that the World Cup of Seoul (Korea) 2022, ends on August 28th and that the participating players will be traveling back home in the period between 29th and 31st of August, the inscriptions for the World Cup of Veghel (The Netherlands), that will take place from 23 to 29 of October 2022, will be published on September 1st, 2022.

Lausanne Billard Masters 2022 to be an U-25 event
After 8 successful editions, the organizer of the Lausanne Billiard Masters (LBM) wished to change its formula in order to vary the type of competition each year.
Thus, with the UMB, it was decided that the LBM will act as an innovation lab by making it possible to reach various categories of players (for example Youth and Women) and to try out various game formats.
Important Announcement: Invitation Dates for UMB Events Restored to Normal
Due to the imposed travel restrictions during the COVID-19 period, for more than two years UMB adapted the event publication dates for the World Cups to 6 weeks and for the World Championships to 8 weeks, prior to the date of the event.
As most COVID-19 travel restrictions have been now lifted, UMB restored the publication dates of these events, back to the delay mentioned in tournament rules, to respectively 8 and 10 weeks prior to the event date, starting from the Seoul (Korea) World Cup that, accordingly, will be published on June 27th, 2022.

European Championship 3-Cushion: Sanchez Dethrones Jaspers
Daniel Sanchez is the new European 3-Cushion Champion!
The Spaniard won the title at the continental championships in Berlicum/Netherlands today with a 50:35 after 19 innings against defending champion Dick Jaspers (Netherlands). Sanchez started the match brilliantly with a series of four and nine and was already 13:2 ahead after only two innings. The Spaniard defended this advantage until the five minutes break and was ahead by 26:16. In the past, Dick Jaspers had been able to improve his game in the second leg and had turned around many matches he thought were lost. But this time it didn’t work out.

The 25th World Championship 5-pins Individual Open is finally back after a long stop. Six months after the second postponement due to the evolution of the global health emergency, the most important 5-Pins event is getting ready to start again in Calangianus. The countdown that will bring international billiards to Sardinia, in the city of Gallura from September 20th to 25th, 2022, begins.
